Your tap handle looks sharp. The pitted, chalky ferrule under it does not. Swap it out and the whole tap looks new again, no need to touch the handle above it.
This is the standard 1" tapered beer tap handle ferrule that fits the American draft system. The top threads onto the 5/16"-18 hanger bolt already in your handle, and the bottom threads onto a 3/8"-16 faucet lever. If your tap handle was built in the United States, this is almost certainly the ferrule you need.

Replace the ferrule, keep the handle
Ferrules take the abuse. Beer runs down them, they get wiped with sanitizer a few thousand times, and eventually they go dull, pitted, or chalky white. The handle above is usually still fine. A new ferrule takes about a minute with a wrench, and the tap looks new again for a couple of bucks.

Common questions
What size ferrule fits a standard beer tap handle?
In the United States the standard is a 5/16"-18 thread at the top, into the handle, and a 3/8"-16 thread at the bottom, onto the faucet lever. That is exactly what this ferrule uses.
Does it come with a hanger bolt?
No. This is the ferrule only. Most tap handles already have the hanger bolt installed.
Is this a through-hole ferrule?
Yes. It is drilled through and threaded at both ends, which is what a standard American faucet lever needs.
Will brushed aluminum match my chrome or brass ferrules?
No. Brushed aluminum is a softer, matte silver. If you are replacing one ferrule in a row of taps, replace them all so the finishes match.
How do I install it?
Unscrew the old ferrule off the hanger bolt, thread the new one on until it seats against the handle, then screw the handle down onto the faucet lever.
